"My Process: The Physical and Intellectual Play of Ideas" by Dolores Slowinski

Threadlines: 91+90 by Dolores S. Slowinski
The Lakeshore Fiber Arts Guild will present Dolores S. Slowinski on "My Process: The Physical and Intellectual Play of Ideas" describing her work with paper, embroidery floss, and fiber on Wed., April 3, at the Holland Area Arts Council, 150 East 8th St., Holland, MI 49423, starting at 6:00pm.

With actual pieces, Slowinski will discuss the evolution of her art work and show details of how she works and thinks to create “Threadlines” (“drawings” on watercolor paper with pierced holes and embroidery floss), her current focus since 2009.

Detroit resident and native Dolores Slowinski holds a BFA in weaving and ceramics from Wayne State University. After an active 20-year career as an art reviewer combined with a 10-year career as an arts administrator, she returned to her studio and has been successful in showing her work in Detroit and outlying Michigan communities since 2005.  Her work was recently shown at the Lansing Art Gallery and included in “Textiles: The Art of Mankind” by Mary Schoeser, published in 2012 by Thames & Hudson, London.

The Lakeshore Fiber Arts Guild invites anyone interested in the textile fiber arts to their monthly program meetings held the first Wednesday of each month at the Holland Area Arts Council.
