Sandra Hansen's enthusiasm for Paper Making was amazing

Sandra brought much of her basic paper making equipment with her to show us just how she makes her large papers. She uses Ornamental Grasses, wets them and beats them with her Holland beater.  This makes a very slimy substance that she adds dye to.

Sandra the showed us how she put the dyed pulp in her Mold and Deckle frame.  Most of the her tools she has made herself.

Above is a picture of the set up in her home.

She is an avid traveler, and she loves to enter her paper in shows in China.

Sandra also has an exhibit right now in the Great Legs Winery in Holland.  She also has some of her journals for sale there.

Above are close ups of her papers. The top 3 which is all one, fit across a table.

Journals

This is our 39th year of the Guild, so we celebrated with a cake.

Three people also finished their brown bag challenge.

Jeanne made a pincushion with her 5 items.

Jane made this wonderful art piece out of toilet paper rolls, ribbon, a bone and a couple other things.

Alice made a great doll figure.

Show and Tell

Alice also had a fun time dyeing these cloths with rusty objects, tea and vinegar. Fun designs.

Alexa is busy making pendants and copper tubes to use in her jewelery making.

Jennifer is hand sewing some of her smaller pieces together to make houses and other art pieces.
