"SPINNING THE YARNS YOU LOVE"




The Lakeshore Fiber Arts Guild’s next meeting will be on Wed., March 1, featuring Gail Myrhorodsky on “Spinning the Yarns You Love, at the Holland Area Arts Council, 150 East 8th St., Holland, MI 49423, starting promptly at 6:30pm with social time beginning at 6pm.  Non-members are asked to pay $5 toward the speaker’s fee.

Grand Rapids resident Gail Myrhorodsky will present a talk on hand spinning unique yarns. She will present an overview of how she prefers to plan and make her yarns, different types of wool and other fibers, several processing methods using tools of the trade, different spinning techniques, and finishing the final yarn. Gail will have her art quilts on hand as examples of how she uses her yarns in 2-D work, as well as her handspun yarn for sale.
