The
Lakeshore Fiber Arts Guild’s next program will feature Jennifer Gould on
“Disperse Dyes for Synthetic Fabrics” on Wed., Jan. 7, at the Holland Area Arts
Council, 150 East 8th St., Holland, MI 49423, starting at
6:30pm. Non-members are asked to pay $5
toward the speaker’s fee.
Disperse dye is a special
type of dye made specifically for polyester, nylon, acrylic, and acetate rayon
fabrics. Jennifer’s talk will focus on transfer printing and its possibilities
with synthetics with many actual samples.
A short hands-on portion will be possible for those interested.
Jennifer Gould makes art
dolls and hand printed fabrics at her home in Byron Center. She sells her dolls year-round at YT Galleria
in Grand Rapids where her annual show is currently on through Dec. 31. The Galleria is located at 966 Cherry St.,
SE; 616-451-8817.
There will also be a
Surface Design Association (SDA) Swatch Book with over a 100 pages of members’
actual fabric pieces for attendees to view and discuss.
