Christmas ornament exchange and show and tell: December 2014

Needle-felted basket and presents by Jonetta Brown
(with chocolate candy inside!)

Wendy Rice's Christmas tree mad with water
soluble stabilizer, paper and fabric.
Jennifer Gould's felted ball embellished
with beads and embroidery.

Pris Lynch's knitted mitten ornament.

Alexa Urquhart's flying tiger super hero.

Alice Breese's twig angel ornament.

Arlene Tiemeyer filled this clear plastic bauble
with yarn, buttons, fabric and ribbon from
all her many weavings and projects!

Arlene Tiemeyer shows her handwoven fabric
(first image above after her ornament), rugs,
and her wild colored knitted scarf made with
wool fabric (rugs) and yarn (scarf) that was
given to her.

Jan Koster is so proud of her
pants: she worked a long
time, she said, to design a pants
pattern that was perfect for her.
The fabric is a gorgeous double
weave jacquard.  And they are beautiful!

Jennifer Gould showed her embroideries she's been doing
using her hand printed fabric.  Most of these use the simplest
whip stitch (straight, seed, and many other names).

Jeannie Emery made a skirt for her co-worker who is
leaving for Southern Africa and missionary work.
The previous photo shows the inside of the skirt where
she had all the other co-workers sign their names.

Pris Lynch brought a huge pile of pieces she had
made using a technique of putting WonderUnder
underneath quilt cotton, cutting out the design,
and then ironing/bonding it to fabric for an
array of incredible designs.  Some fabrics are
then machine sewed for added depth and change of color.

Pris Lynch also brought her nuno felted scarves that she had
eco-printed with purple leaves (a Vietnamese plant that they
use to dye rice).

Jonetta Brown (above) wasn't going to show us anything
but she was wearing this gorgeous shawl that she had knitted.
