Meeting Safely During the Quarantine

As you can see in the following pictures, we were so spread out it was hard to get good pictures.  However, it was  wonderful  to just be able to share our projects and our lives. The September meeting took place at Wendt Park in Holland on a gorgeous day. We all brought our own dinners.

Priscilla started us off with a brief business meeting

Most of our meeting consisted of show and tell,  as we have all been quite creative this past 6 months.

The following are Jennifer's wonderful pieces from her 3-D shibori stitched and indigo dyed series.

- Pink Volcano Landscape (8" x 8")
- Wild Jungle Leaves (8" x 8")
- Lush Bananas (8"x 8")
- Profusion (10" x 10")

I included Lush Bananas, even though I didn't show it at the outing, because it's at the LowellArts current member show and it belongs between the Leaves and Profusion.

The following 2 pictures show part of the process that Jennifer uses to get to her finished art. As you can see she paints the cotton with Procion MX dyes in vivid colors, then shibori stitches them, and then  indigo dyes them and drys them with the stitching still in. Jennifer said she is  having lots of fun!
