Jan Coray showed us several fun Paper Cutting Techniques

Besides all these samples Jan had several albums filled with trees, snowflakes, pumpkins, funny faces, butterflies, and anything else she could think of to cut.

As you can see the design ideas are endless.  The basic snowflake we learned is cut with a 60 degree angle in order to get the 6 points.  We also learned to cut trees and wreaths.  Any scissors that feel comfortable to you will work and just about any paper.  The thinner paper folds easier and is easier to cut.

Jan walked around helping us learn the techniques.

We are all quite intense as we learn to cut.

Show and Tell Tonight

Pat brought a Nativity scene that she had cut out of paper many years ago.

Priscilla brought several items she made trying to use up her stash of dyed fabrics.  The runners were stitched to enhance the dyeing.

The circles were amazing as she actually stitched them into the grey fabric.

This fabric piece was done with an ice dyeing technique.

Jennifer spent a couple days last month learning to use a felting machine. These top two pieces she felted some silk threads.

The next picture she experimented with all kinds of fiber.

Marty was excited to show off the jacket she made.  Great fit.
