The Lakeshore Fiber Arts Guild’s first meeting of their program year will be Dawn Edwards on “Feltmaking: From My Michigan Studio to Places Around the World” on Sept. 4, at the Holland Area Arts Council, 150 East 8th St., Holland, MI 49423, starting at 6:00pm. A $5 guest fee will be requested at this speaker’s meeting for those who are nonmembers of the guild.
Plainwell resident Dawn Edwards has visited and studied with feltmakers in Australia, Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, and many other countries. She has taught and exhibited widely. Her talk will include many of her actual pieces as well as a PowerPoint presentation highlighting works of her favorite feltmakers and how they produce their work. She will also include images of her own studio and how she produces pieces there. Be there to hear how the people she’s met through feltmaking have enlivened her life through their shared passion in the fiber arts.
The Lakeshore Fiber Arts Guild invites anyone interested in the textile fiber arts to their monthly program meetings held the first Wednesday of each month at the Holland Area Arts Council.
