Needle Felting with an Embellisher Machine

Byron Center, Michigan – The Lakeshore Fiber Arts Guild’s April meeting will feature Priscilla Lynch talking about ”Needle-Felting with the Embellisher Machine” on Wed., April 4, at the Holland Area Arts Council, 150 East 8th St., Holland, MI 49423, starting at 6:30pm.  We invite anyone interested in the textile and fiber arts to join us.

The Embellisher, or needle-felting machine, is a wonderful and versatile tool for the contemporary fiber artist. Looking like a sewing machine but using only barbed needles, it can "paint" a picture with fiber or fabric; collage layers of material and fuse them into a single fabric; distort a fabric into a sculptural form; "sew" small pieces of fabric together to create a larger piece--- the list is endless.  Priscilla Lynch will demonstrate many of these techniques and illustrate with numerous samples of finished work just some of the possibilities of needle-felting with the embellisher machine.  There will be materials available for attendees to try some needle-felting themselves.  Please bring needle-felting projects you have done to share.

Guild member and Saugatuck resident Priscilla Lynch has worked with every type of fiber and textile work imaginable from award winning handwoven clothing, to rugs, tapestry weaving, and hand printed fabric.

The Lakeshore Fiber Arts Guild invites anyone interested in the textile fiber arts to their monthly program meetings held the first Wednesday of each month at the Holland Area Arts Council.
