Julia brought all the dyeing supplies we needed to dye our crochet cotton, embroidery floss or any other fiber we wanted to try. She developed this technique to get uneven variegated colors using Procion MX dyes.
Picking out our colors was the hardest part. Julia suggested using 3 colors.
As you can see this took full concentration to put the colors randomly on the thread.
After carefully dyeing our threads we stacked them on plastic plates to take home and let sit for 24 hours. Then we rinsed them and admired our creativity, thanks to Julia.
I love all my colored threads. Please send me pictures of finished dyed threads and I will post.

Alexa made some more wonderful glass beaded earrings. Her new design looks like a Petoskey stone.
Jennifer spent a lot of time this month experimenting with Indigo dyeing on all types of fabrics for the class she will teach this summer at the MLH show in Holland.
