And a Good Time Was Had By All at our Potluck, Ornament Exchange Party

We started the night with a feast.  Such a wonderful variety of appetizers, main dishes and desserts. And as Jeanne said, "We were quite fed up".

Here we are waiting patiently while Wendy takes pictures.

Show and Tell Followed

Alexa showed a Christmas card she made using the paper cutting technique we learned from Jan. She cut 60 trees to make her cards this year.

Barbara made a wonderful
Christmas shirt.  Her specialty is making and selling  American Girl doll clothes, so her doll had to have a matching outfit.
She also made the baby bunting below.

Beautiful dyed scarves by Julia.  She used various dyes including marigold, sumac, copper and walnuts.

This piece by Julia
incorporated several techniques. The window type areas were stitched with thread over water soluble stabilizer.

Priscilla's lovely vest was wet felted with wool and silk.  Most of which she had dyed.

Priscilla also brought several examples of her book covers she has made for her sketching books.
She uses the technique for the book in the making of the cover.

Usually a quilter, Jennifer thought she would try making a coat.
She used a McCalls pattern and predesigned fabric from Fields.
The coat looked great on her.

Marty had been sewing several articles of clothing this year.  She kept notes in a book she made of swatches, patterns and pattern changes.  Great idea.
