Bring a Project to Work on or to Share with Others

 Several members brought supplies to share with others in the group so that they could try something new.  Other members brought along projects they were working on.  We had some wonderful show and tell items and wonderful desserts.  Thank you everyone for being so willing to share, time and materials.

Priscilla (above) passed out kits for us to to take home to do ice dyeing to send out to MLH this year.  The fabric will then be cut up into small pieces to hand out to the MLH members.  Someone else will do that part.

Susan J. has been very busy.  She also brought her gel plate for members to try.

Suzanne's specialty is Needle Felting

She has been working on a new technique for bird feathers.  She also taught us how to make a bird a couple months ago.

Jane has been working on a wonderful art piece.

Nancy has been making fungi, small printed fabrics and art from found items on the beach. And of course baskets.

This is just a fun spool art with small fabrics and hand stitches.

One never knows what Judy is going to bring, if something doesn't work out she takes it apart and makes something else.

Priscilla brought several small looms for us to try, some she bought, some she made.  She also brought a couple tapestries that she wove.

This is called a "Transparency Tapestry" developed by a Norwegian woman.  The rose is a wonderful example and illustrates the open technique really well.

Linda S. showed us how to cover a rock with wet felted wool.

Very relaxing to play with.  We used olive oil soap and water to felt the wool on the rock.

Kay enjoyed learning a new technique.

Chris shared a wonderful Quaker style cross stitch she made on 40 count linen using 1 piece of floss.

Judy A. is making several of these types of fabric collage pictures for a show.

Janet K. made these wonderful woven pieces.

Alice brought paper to teach us the origami folded Star.

Coleen brought another beautiful rug.

We could also try Alabama Chanin technique.
