Center, Michigan – The Lakeshore Fiber Arts Guild’s next program meeting is on
Wed., October 4, featuring Georgia Mae Farr on “AfroCentric Inspired Clothing,”
at the Holland Area Arts Council, 150 East 8th St., Holland, MI
49423, starting promptly at 6:30pm with social time beginning at 6pm. Guests are asked to pay $10 toward the
speaker’s fee.
Grand Rapids resident Georgia Mae Farr will
talk about how she uses traditional
handmade
African mud cloth
in her clothing creations, her methods, and how she handles fabrics. She will have samples of her one-of-a-kind
clothing on hand.
An
experienced sewer who started sewing, doing
alterations, designing and making garments when she was very young, Farr began her
Creations by Georgia in 1992 after years of professionally altering clothing. She later had a custom fashion business where
she made formal ware and wedding attire.

The
Lakeshore Fiber Arts Guild invites anyone interested in the textile fiber arts
